Dan Nicholas Park (Salisbury, Rowan County),
10 km Nature Walk, YRE 496

This walk is on park trails and roads of 350 acre park. Attractions to be noted at the park include crossing a trestle bridge over the lake. The park includes paddle boats, a carousel, and a miniature train. Park also includes an 80 site family campground. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Walk is rated a 2.

This YRE walk qualifies for the following Special Programs.

Directions:
From I-85, take Exit 76 (Albermarle, US 52 South). Go south on US 52 for 3/10 of a mile and turn left on Stokes Ferry Road. Travel 5.9 miles on Stokes Ferry Road and turn left on Providence Church Road. Go 1.7 miles and turn right at stop sign onto Bringle Ferry Road for 0.6 mile to park entrance on the left. Take second right in park to the parking lot at the lake. Walk to the Concession Stand/Park Office.
