This walk takes you through the historic area of the town to two pre-Revolutionary War cemeteries, a former Confederate Prison Camp cemetery (now a National Cemetery), and through city parks. It is mostly on city sidewalks and park pathways and is rated a 1+ .

For weekend days, It is best to call the visitor center to make sure that the published open hours have not changed.

Directions:
Take Exit 76B (Salisbury) from I-85. You will be on East Innes street. Go 0.9 of a mile to Lee Street and the Visitor Center will be on your right. Visitor Center is one block before Main Street (the city's center or "the Square").
Parking:
A "free parking" lot is just over one block from the Visitor Center on the corner of Depot St and Council St. A "2-hour" parking lot, starting at 9 am is just half a block past the Visitor Center. Parking on Innnes St is limited to 2 hours beginning at 8 am.
